The EyeKup for Leica M-EV1 blocks peripheral light around the electronic viewfinder, improving contrast and making framing more comfortable, whether you shoot with or without glasses.
Designed specifically to work with the Owlkrown HotGrip for Leica M-EV1, both pieces create one clean, integrated setup. The HotGrip improves thumb support, while the EyeKup reduces stray light and helps your eye settle naturally into the viewfinder.
Unlike conventional eyecups, the Owlkrown EyeKup is precision-machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and finished with a durable anodized coating. The contact area features a non-smudge, scratch-safe rubberized pad for added comfort and protection when wearing glasses.

This product solves the MEV1’s biggest weakness — the finder getting dirty so easily.
I was worried about the simple “just insert into the hot grip” mounting method, but it held firmly with no wobble at all.
I highly recommend it to anyone who’s hesitating.
One thing to note: The black chrome eye cup color is very close to the MEV body. So if you already have the original hot grip and buy this separately, you may notice a slight difference in shade. If you care about a perfectly uniform look, I recommend getting the set that includes the hot grip.

Great idea. Great product! Very happy to have this on my M EV1....Now, please (PLEASE!) make an EyeKup for each of the Leica SL series of cameras. I will be first in line to buy, one-each, for my SL Type 601 & SL2 cameras. Thank you, T.L. Smith

When I first got my EV1, there were a few things that I had hoped for:
1. A thumbgrip that would/could retain access to the hotshoe
2. An eyecup given the way the EVF form-factor is on the EV1 (and that I wear glasses)
I got the Owlkrown thumbgrip (previously) and was thrilled when they announced the eyecup -- and the fact that it integrates/interlocks with the hotgrip (which makes it feel more secure from my POV).
